Idea backlog & screening
TL;DR — The forcing questions every idea must answer before it earns time, plus the anti-patterns to avoid. Keeps the catalog honest. (Demo content.)
Screening frame (answer for each new idea)
- Who feels this pain today, and how do I know?
- What do they use now, and why isn't it enough?
- Wedge — the smallest thing I could ship in two weeks.
- Fit — can I build it solo, alongside the day job?
- Proof — what result would tell me to keep going (or stop)?
Anti-patterns
- Building a second thing before the first has users.
- "It'd be cool if…" with no one waiting for it.
- Competing on price in a category owned by free, funded incumbents.
Verdicts
Record each screened idea as ❌ (no), 🟡 (maybe later), or ✅ (build) in ideas/README.md. A clean "no" is the most valuable outcome.
